Abhyangam is a popular body massage in ayurveda

Ayurvedic herbal oil, herbal Ghee, herbal paste, or herbal powder should be massaged into the body with light pressure. The herbs in ghee, oil, and other preparations seep into the skin, promoting both lymphatic and arterial circulation while calming the body and mind.

After an Abhyanga, one can enjoy a personalized herbal steam bath called a swedana. Swedana involves keeping the head cool to maintain a state of calmness and forcing the body to sweat in order to eliminate toxins that have become embedded in the tissues.
